How to Install TWRP and Root Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro

Before you begin, it is important to have all the tools at hand. you will need:


ENABLE USB DEBUGGING 

1. Go to SettingsAbout phone
2. Find the MIUI Version and press 8 times on it:

3. Return to the previous screen. Go to Additional Settings

You will see that a line has appeared: “Developers Options
4. Press and check “USB Debugging” &  “OEM unlocking


Install TWRP Recovery on your Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro

1- Restart your Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro in Fastboot mode:

  • press & hold  the “Volume Down + Power button” at the same time for about 5 seconds

2- Open the folder where ADB and Fastboot are located on your computer and Copy the TWRP Recovery file on the ADB folder

3- In an empty area, hold down the shift key and right-click with the mouse, the context menu will contain an entry Open command window here

 4- Verify that the phone is recognized in Fastboot mode:

  • fastboot devices
5- Boot to the recovery TWRP:
  • fastboot boot twrp-sakura.img
6-  Now flash the recovery again with TWRP
  • Copy the twrp-sakura.img file on your internal storage or SD card.
  • Install and flash TWRP
  • Tab on Install and then choose twrp-sakura.img
  • Press the return key
  • Just press Reboot to restart the phone in normal mode.

7- You have successfully Flashed TWRP in your Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro.


Root Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro Via SuperSU

1 – Copy the UPDATE-SuperSU.Zip file on your internal storage or SD card.

2- Restart your Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro in Fastboot mode:

  • press & hold  the “Volume Down + Power button” at the same time for about 5 seconds

3- Install and flash  SuperSU :

  • Tab on”Install” and then choose “UPDATE-SuperSU.Zip
  • Press the return key
  • Just press “Reboot” to restart the phone in normal mode.

4 – Now Download & install the apk file  SuperUser

5- Restart your device.

6- Now you have successfully rooted your Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro.


If you want to unroot your Xiaomi device: open SuperSu app click on Full unroot.


Root Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro Via Magisk

1 – Copy the Magisk.zip file on your internal storage or SD card.

2- Restart your Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro in Fastboot mode:

  • press & hold  the “Volume Down + Power button” at the same time for about 5 seconds

3- Install and flash Magisk:

  • Choose “Install” in the TWRP recovery and then choose “Magisk.zip
  • Press the return key
  • Just press “Reboot” to restart the phone in normal mode.

4 – Now Download & install the apk file “MagiskManager.apk”

5- Restart your device.

6- Now you have successfully rooted your Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro.
